So my first and second sketches are pretty much always this awful. Usually worse, actually.

That mess in the right-hand corner is the first thing I drew while planning this out. I drew the big bold sketch on a new layer right on top of that messy faded sketch (which is actually much larger). I'm going to do one more cleaner sketch on top of this one once I mess with positions a little more, and then go ahead and ink *that*. Phew!

Still very sketchy, and the poses are a little wonky, but I worked out the composition and poses myself without taking any pictures waving a lacrosse stick around or anything! This is a new thing for me.

Out of curiosity, if you had to pick an arrancar to match up with each of the other folks in this Espada Project for a fight, who would you choose? I have some thoughts, but I'm looking for other opinions. I'm not sure about some of them.

Anyone know of a way to mess with/create speed lines in Photoshop Elements? /lame

Still heavily in the sketch stage. I particularly like Ichigo's malformed left index finger.

The idea is that he's pushing Grimm's sword away with just the one hand on his own sword? Not sure how clear that is.

Foreshortening? Check.
People interacting in the same space? Check.
Grimmjow's SL;dfjkasl;dfjas;ldfjka hair? ... UGH. Not yet even close to check.

Time for this peach to step it up? Check.

Me + no scanner = massive fail in trying to show you realworld drawings. : (

Some of those are old, and some of them are ugly, but some of them I like. So you get to see them in their original context.

I have difficulty letting myself do big/ potentially messy sketches, even in a book specifically made for that purpose. Working on getting over myself ;)
+ a question: What kind of sketchbooks do you guys like? I'm about halfway through this one but am thinking of buying another one soonish since I doubt I'll be able to find one easily in Scotland this fall.

i-i have no idea what a cat skull looks like. however, this looks cute to me, and there is therefore a 95% chance that I'll be too lazy to go look it up.

I draw people in ~~hideous poorly fitting~~ bathing suits before I work out what their clothes need to look like.

So that's Claire (Clare? Clayr?), who you've seen previously. She's 18ish here. The dragon-looking thing sitting up on that mysterrrrrious thread is her guardian.

Here they are as I drew them back in 2005, when I first had the idea for the world these kids live in:

LOL especially at the boots, the plastic hair, and the sword (which was HEAVILY referenced from a picture-- I had no idea what the hell foreshortening even was at the time). Also the poor paperdoll dragon.

No scanner. I sent it home for the summer. Thus, this was taken with poor laptop's built-in camera, which is less than stellar, to put it nicely.

If you could see it better, it would be more obvious, but this is a sketch on tiny cardstock of a scene from this NelielxTesla fanfic I wrote a while back. I was originally planning on telling it in sequential art form, but I got lazy and wrote it up instead. : ) I might do a bunch more of these; I've got pretty much zero experience in it and I clearly need to practice.

I haven't been on in SO LONG, and it's mainly due to laziness-- without a pretty bookmarked blogs page, I went nuts clicking through my ridiculously long list every time I wanted to see who was up to what.

I should hopefully be on more frequently now that it's back up, though :B
